Relentlessly I tried
to hide all my feelings
made my own little world
to ensure that I
was not hurt
Did not care what
others thought of me
But it hurt others
and that hurt me too!
Should I be
careless or careful?
that still boggles me!
There’s still this query
Whether it was worth
the worry at all?

ವರಯೋಗಮಾರ್ಗವಿದು ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ।।
Apparently interested in worldly affairs, but internally detached from it all.
Externally immersed in work, but within, disinterest [in its outcome].
On the outside very traditional, but in the heart, indifferent to it.
